1:1 and Small Group Intervention
Intensive Structured Literacy for Dyslexia & other Reading Challenges
Our one-on-one, in-person structured literacy intervention provides intensive, individualized instruction for students with dyslexia or a Specific Learning Disability (SLD) in reading and written language. Instruction is delivered using the Wilson Reading System, a research-validated program grounded in Orton-Gillingham (OG) principles and the science of reading.
Students progress through Wilson’s systematic 12-step scope and sequence, which explicitly teaches how the English language works—from phonemic awareness and decoding to spelling (encoding), fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Lessons are multisensory, cumulative, and diagnostic, meaning instruction is continually adjusted based on student response and mastery.
This highly targeted approach is especially effective for students who:
-
Have not made adequate progress with classroom or small-group instruction
-
Require explicit, direct teaching to remediate reading and spelling gaps
-
Benefit from structured, sequential instruction that builds skills for long-term independence
Our interventionists focus not only on skill acquisition, but also on confidence rebuilding, helping students become more accurate, fluent, and strategic readers and writers. As students advance, instruction expands to include writing, spelling generalization, and assistive technology, equipping them with tools they can use successfully in upper grades and beyond.
